Curves and Twists – Branding and Design Development
For the Curves and Twists project, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive branding package for this plus-size retail company. The goal was to design a brand identity that reflects the company’s mission of providing affordable, gorgeous clothing options for plus-size individuals, all while empowering confidence and comfort. This branding package included the development of the logo, branding guidelines, business cards, clothing tags, packaging design, advertisements, and social media graphics.
Challenge: The main challenge was to create a design that spoke to a diverse audience while reflecting the brand’s core values: affordability, inclusivity, and empowerment. As an online-only store with a strong presence on social media, it was crucial to craft a visual identity that was both eye-catching and aligned with the modern digital marketplace. Additionally, the branding needed to resonate with the confidence and beauty of plus-size individuals, creating a sense of pride in wearing the clothing.
Solution: I started with designing a bold and inviting logo that conveyed both style and empowerment. The logo was paired with a set of branding guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing materials. I created business cards, clothing tags, and packaging designs that reinforced the brand’s positive and empowering message. For the social media aspect, I developed engaging and visually appealing advertisement designs that highlighted the clothing's versatility and beauty, focusing on both inclusivity and fashion-forward trends.
Outcome: The completed branding package successfully conveyed the essence of Curves and Twists, creating a strong, confident identity for the company. The designs were well-received, providing a clear, consistent, and empowering image across various platforms—from social media ads to packaging design. The branding helped position Curves and Twists as a go-to online retailer for plus-size fashion, building a recognizable and appealing identity for their target audience.
